On a concrete floor it also does something water-based does not: it makes the floor dust-free and easy to clean. In a garage, shed or basement, that is often exactly the difference.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTouch-dry after one hour, recoatable after eighteen hours, fully resistant to use after four days.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch2\u003eOn a concrete floor\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIf you are looking for concrete paint for a garage, shed or basement, this is where you end up: this is the only floor varnish in our range that works as both primer and topcoat on concrete.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe concrete must be at least six months old and thoroughly dry. Newer concrete still contains too much moisture and then nothing adheres. Make the floor free of dust and grease and remove any laitance.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eApply the first coat thinned by up to 10%; it then acts as a primer and penetrates the pores. Then finish with at least two undiluted coats.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch2\u003eOn wood\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSand and remove all dust. Degrease oily wood species thoroughly first. Two to three coats, sanding lightly in between on parquet. This is inherent to alkyd resin.
