Sikaflex-11 FC+ adhesive and sealant
Sikaflex-11 FC+ is an elastic adhesive and sealant in one cartridge. It is a 1-component sealant based on polyurethane that cures under the influence of humidity. You use it indoors and outdoors, both for bonding and for sealing joints. It adheres well to most building materials and does not sag.
What you use it for
Bonding concrete, brickwork, ceramics, wood, metal and glass, among other things, and sealing vertical and horizontal joints. The movement capability is about 25%.
Not suitable for sanitary joints, glazing, joints in and around swimming pools, joints that are permanently under water, loaded floor joints or structural bonding. Does not adhere to bitumen, EPDM, natural rubber, PE, PP and PTFE.
Application
The substrate must be clean, dry, sound and free of grease and dust. On most substrates the sealant adheres without a primer; for more demanding applications Sika advises a pre-treatment for each substrate. Apply between +5 and +40 °C. Skin forms after about 50 minutes, through-curing about 4 mm per 24 hours (at 23 °C and 50% humidity).
Overpainting
The sealant can be overpainted with most common water-based paint systems. You get the best result when the sealant has fully cured. Test the paint first; a non-flexible paint can crack.
